Goal Checkout & Checkin

Goals are available for games and at the MFC Clubhouse (135 N Main St MAP).  Goals are stored in the room that you enter in the back door. Each team is given a code to be associated to the team, contact coach or team manager if you are in charge of the goal to get that code. Be sure to close and lock the door.

If your team's game is the first game of the day on a field, your team is responsible for pickup and setup.  It is your team's responsibility to know this, based on the referee schedule published the week of the game.

If your team's game is the last game of the day on a field, your team is responsible for tear down and return.  It is your team's responsibility to know this, based on the referee schedule published the week of the game.  Do not leave goals setup after your game unless you KNOW there is another game.

No matter who actually picks up or returns the goals, the COACH and TEAM MANAGER are responsible for the goals at all times, and for ensuring the checkout procedures are followed.  Be sure to review procedures with parents and assistant coaches before having them assist with goal checkout or return.

The COACH and TEAM MANAGER are responsible for ensuring that the following checkout procedures are followed, no matter who picks up or returns the goals. Be sure to review these procedures with parents and assistant coaches before having them assist with goal checkout.

  • Use an appropriate vehicle to transport the goals safely and legally.
  • There is no help available to load or unload goals. Be sure you have enough help so safely load and unload the goals between your vehicle and the shed.
  • Goal bags are labeled by number and red bags are for 7v7/9v9, and Black bags are 11v11.  Be sure to pickup the correct size for your game.
  • All goals must be signed out on the sign-out sheet inside the clubhouse, including bag #'s. Be sure to close the door when you leave.
  • All goals should be returned immediately following games, scrimmages, or practices.  Others may need them before you think they will.
  • When returning goals, sign them back in on the sign-out sheet.  Be sure to close the door when you leave.
  • Missing or damaged parts?  All goals should include 2 corner flags, hammer, 4 L's or spikes to secure the goal, and 3 tent stakes to secure the net.  Contact the Equipment Manager AND the Director of Operations by text message as soon as possible with the bag # and list of missing parts.  Also indicate the missing parts when you sign the goals back in.
  • If there are multiple teams that want the same goals at the same time, the priorities are:
    1. Club events
    2. League games
    3. Scrimmage games
    4. Practices

The COACH and TEAM MANAGER are responsible for the goals at all times, no matter who picks up or returns the goals. This includes any damage during pickup, transportation, use and/or return.

Goal Setup & Takedown

Goal Setup & Takedown

No matter who actually sets up or tears them down, the COACH and TEAM MANAGER are responsible for the goals at all times, and for ensuring the setup/teardown procedures are followed.  Be sure to review procedures with assistant coaches and parents (including opponents' apparents if they are assisting) before having them assist with setup or teardown.

Setting goals up correctly is critical to player safety. READ THIS!

Also, be sure to zip up the goal bags after setup, with the hammer and any extra parts inside; then lay on the back edge of the net, zipper side down.  This helps minimize the risk of parts being stolen, and of morning dew or rain water (or unexpected sprinkler water) getting into the bags.
